Wildcraft Mini Camp – Story Scroll Shoebox Theatre

It’s a Wonderful World of Art at Vida Art Studio Mini Camp!
Design and create a shoebox theatre at Wildcraft Mini Camp. Open to campers Kindergarten through 6th grade. Campers will learn about the basics of storytelling and animation to create an original story scroll (think long piece of paper showcasing a series of drawings that roll onto a spool). Then, they will build their own shoebox theatre to feature their story scroll. This historic storytelling method dates back hundreds of years as a way to illustrate stories before movies and TV. It’s going to be an amazing time!
This half day camp includes all materials, engaging lessons, and outdoor play (weather permitting). No artistic experience necessary—just big ideas and a love of making!
Campers will need:
- Water Bottle
- Snacks, if needed
- Coat, gloves, hat, and weather appropriate clothing. We will try to go outside for a portion of our camp day, if possible!
- a good attitude
- Clothes that can get messy
Campers can be dropped off no earlier than 15 minutes before start time and must be picked up by 15 minutes after the program ends. Please read our studio policies before registering.
